‘Arbeidsliv i Norden’ was published for the first
time in 1986.
The Nordic Council of Ministers was the responsible publisher from
1986 to 1999.
After that the contract was put out to tender. The Work Research
Institute was the responsible publisher of the journal ‘Arbeidsliv i
Norden’ for the Nordic Council of Ministers for the period 2000 – 2008.
Berit Kvam was the Editor-in-Chief.

Nordic Labour Journal was published for the first
time in 1996.
The Work Research Institute has been the responsible publisher of
the Nordic Labour Journal in the period 2000 – 2008. The work was
carried out for the Nordic Council of Ministers. Berit Kvam was the
Editor-in-Chief.

As of 2009 the Nordic Council of Ministers has decided to
discontinue the magazines in printed form in favour of an online
journal and electronic newsletter. The Work Research Institute was
given the task of developing the online magazines ‘Arbeidsliv i Norden’
and the Nordic Labour Journal with newsletters in Scandinavian, Finnish
and English.
