About the Nordic Labour Journal

The Nordic Labour Journal is an online newspaper with stories written by journalists and writers from across the Nordics. We specialise in publishing news and articles about working life from a Nordic perspective.

The Nordic Labour Journal focuses on issues concerning the labour market, work environments and labour law issues related to the Nordic labour market models.

The Nordic Labour Journal is published by the Work Research Institute at OsloMet on commission from the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Line Scheistrøen is the Editor-in-Chief, and the editorial staff is made up of freelance journalists and photographers across the Nordic countries and autonomous areas. We also have Kerstin Ahlberg as our labour law expert and Lars Bevanger translates the Scandinavian texts to English.

The Nordic Labour Journal follows the code of ethics that applies to the press, as laid down in the Editor’s Code and the Code of Ethics for the Press.

You can read our privacy policy here.

We are interested in the cooperation between the Nordic countries, between the Nordic region and the EU and the relationship to other countries and international bodies like the ILO and the OECD.

The Nordic Labour Journal aims to highlight how social media trends, new technology, digitalisation, globalisation and demographics influence working life and place new demands on authorities, the social partners, employers, trade unions and employees.

We focus on issues such as a sustainable working environment, the labour market situation, migration, the situation for young people and vulnerable groups, innovation and green workplaces.

We publish articles in the Scandinavian languages and issue a free email newsletter nine times a year.

We also have an Scandinavian-publication, Arbeidsliv i Norden (LINK), where we publish articles in the Scandinavian language.
